Visual Designer

  • Are you a WordPress aficionado with a minimum of 2 years demonstrable experience in designing and developing corporate websites?
  • Do you pay careful attention to detail?
  • Have you excellent technical knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, PremierePro and Illustrator?

 

We are currently recruiting for the role of Visual Designer in our Cork office, to work primarily in digital media, with some print media.

THE ROLE
The Visual Designer will work within the Marketing team to design, create, maintain and update a portfolio of websites. You will have well-rounded knowledge of WP content management tools, content creation tools, applications, hosting requirements, as well as UI, UX, cross-browser compatibility and web standards. A good working knowledge of ecommerce and digital media integration supported by a current portfolio is preferable. You will have experience in frontend design and coding; web content creation, including static, audio and video; and optimising graphic assets for digital media. You will manage and maintain company websites, adhere to best practice in web development for WP, and review and resolve problems uncovered by testing and stakeholder feedback.

The Visual Designer will also from time-to-time support the Marketing team in the design and development of work for print media. An understanding of prepress, print production and the types of print processes used for the production of a range of marketing collateral would be beneficial but not obligatory. A good working knowledge of a variety of Adobe Creative Suite apps is required for this role.

THE PERSON
You will be solutions focussed and able to clearly communicate your ideas. You are comfortable working within established brand guidelines, can work to tight deadlines, apply high quality standards, have excellent attention to detail, good proof-reading skills, follow best practice in the development of a range of digital projects and maintain a robust back-up system.

SKILLS
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including: InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop.
CSS, WP CMS & Woocommerce.
Fluent English.

EXPERIENCE
2-3 years experience in a similar environment.
