Prefold PHS Fusion Variable Plus is a factory folded, full adhesive tape for sealing window and door reveals. This window tape protects against interstitial condensation by controlling vapour and responding to local humidity. In the winter months the tape becomes more vapour closed to prevent moisture travelling into the building fabric; and during the summer, the tape becomes more vapour open, to allow any moisture that infiltrated the wall to dry out internally.
Prefold PHS Fusion Variable Plus is a high tack adhesive tape for internal and external use and can be applied even at low temperatures. The tape has a special structure allowing it to stretch in the transverse direction for optimal absorption of structural movement. This directional flexibility guarantees durable sealing of reveals. Prefold PHS Fusion Variable Plus can be plastered and painted over and is fully concealed after installation.
Applications:
- Window and door reveals.
- All construction types.
- Internal and external use.

Application
Application Area Preparation
• Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry and free of dust and grease. In addition, the surface should not be adhesion-repellent. Surfaces are to be cleaned and adhesion tests carried out prior to bonding. Finished bonds should neither be under standing water nor subject to permanent mechanical stress. Wrinkles and permanent strains must be prevented.
• Unusual stresses are to be avoided. The plaster manufacturer’s instructions must be observed and plaster tests also carried out on site. Affixed tape must lie fat and not have any voids or bubbles.
• In the case of improper and unprofessional application and if pre-requisites for secure bonding are not met, such as a bad substructure, this can lead to invalidating the guarantee.
Application of Tape
• Clean and prime the substrate including around the window straps.
• Begin by sealing the window straps with the tape.
• Next apply the tape to the corners.
• Use a roller to fatten creases and secure permanently.
• Unroll the tape to the height of the window reveal to measure the amount needed, and cut.
• Attach the 15mm folded section of tape to the window frame.
• When correctly in place, peel off the backing and attach to primed substrate.
• Press down manually then apply your roller to secure in place permanently.
• For wider tapes with additional splits, apply each split separately and repeat.
• The tape and/or membrane should not be exposed to any mechanical strain.
