PASSIVE HOUSE DESIGN - AIRTIGHTNESS PRODUCTS
Air tightness is defined as preventing the flow of unplanned air entering a building through gaps and cracks in the building fabric which leads to an energy efficient, affordable, eco-friendly construction.
An air-tight membrane is installed on the inside of building envelope; this inner barrier protects the interior of the building against infiltration of outside air. Insulation prevents the escape of heat from the inside.

This product has been assessed by the British Board of Agreament as being fit for its intended use. Provided it is installed, used and maintained as set out in this Certificate.
50-YEAR DURABILITY CERT FOR AIR TIGHT PRODUCTS
Gerband won it from the University of Kassel in Germany for three of its premier airtightness products.
The certification has been awarded to Gerband Sd vapour control and airtight membrane, Gerband 586 airtightness tape, and Gerband Fortax 6400 internal adhesive sealant.
