The publication of the Climate Change Performance Index has seen Ireland ranked 28th out of 56 countries in the Renewable Energy Category. The CCPI, released at the UN Climate Conference, is designed to track countries efforts in combatting climate change.
Although Ireland has been recognised for its improvements in the renewable energy category, the Performance Index is an assessment of 4 different components – Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Climate Policy, Renewable Energy and Energy Use. Combining these components brings Irelands overall ranking in at the 49th position, one of the worst in Europe.
As we have committed to reducing our Greenhouse Gas Emissions through the Paris Agreement, it is evident that we need to dramatically increase our efforts to achieve this target.
How can we help in reaching these targets?
Insulate your home using PHS Airtightness Products. Our extensive range of products will ensure your home is draught free, increasing your energy efficiency and lowering your heating costs.
Also, our PHS Solar PV Systems are a fantastic renewable energy source. The panels allow your home to harness free & natural energy and convert it into useful electricity. A grant scheme is available through the SEAI for owners of all dwellings built & occupied before 2011.
